Mandel: They asked me to do a holiday story and I thought I would do a Hanukkah story, because those are few and far between.

I’ve read nearly all of her comics, and she has been given no motive, dimension, or place within DC, or really even a consistent personality. To have a complete story, so that I can page through the art the way you get to page through the comic—that’s pretty cool.was kind of wild because there are very few characters that exist in so many different ways and yet are the same. Dini: I came up with the idea first and then I was thinking, “Boy, it would be really great to work with somebody from the animated series on it. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I’m going to be making a small change in how I review these comics, because, honestly, I’ve been holding back.

They can do a darker Harley story and then they can do something that’s just over the top and it always seems to work. She’s the one who speaks in fart jokes, sex jokes, poop jokes, and pop culture references for things that aren’t even widely known; so, I don’t know how anyone could find them funny.

A character as compelling as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, Smith will be bowing out. There was also a conceptually very stylized moment that was meant to demonstrate how Harley felt as if someone’s blood was on her hands, but the simplistic art didn’t provide any sense of surrealism for it. The Harley Quinn Black + White + Red collected edition, featuring nineteen stories including “Eight Nights of Harlequin” by David Mandel and Adam Hughes and “Harleen’s Half Dozen (Plus One)” by Paul Dini and Kevin Altieri, is now available in both print and as a digital collection. But if her ultimate goal was to cure him, she wouldn’t have also helped him in his murderous crimes. Harley is one of my favorite characters, so it’s hard to for me to be disappointed in a comic starring her.

Paul Dini: I was sneaking onto the Seinfeld set one night and David kept me from being shot by security guards. I should never have felt the need to water-down my opinions on how this character has been used and destroyed, and neither should anyone else.Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red” is an anthology series that DC originally published in 17 chapters online. The problem is that he’s asked to create art that accurately depicts an obnoxious character, and consequently, I thought that the over-exaggerated drawings of Harley screaming and flirting were just that: obnoxious. I loved the minimal colors for this book, and it also made the violence a little more, well, violent. It’s just not good enough to make up for a company that has abused the character of Harley Quinn more than the Joker ever did. It was all a matter of fitting the puzzle pieces together, with Harley as the screwball leader of the gang.

Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red (Volume 1 (Digital)) was an 17-issue digital-first limited comic book series that began being published by DC Comics in June 2020. See how Harley's story unfolds in worlds beyond the DC Universe, in the alternate timelines of Batman: White Knight , Harleen , and the Harley Quinn animated series! Readers want fictional characters to be written in the way that they find to be the most interesting. A sort of daffy optimism mixed with this real reckless side of her that people respond to, especially creators.I appreciate the reverence Condon seems to have for the original Mad Love issue by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. In Harley Quinn Black + White + Red , 19 tales of Gotham City's craziest clown princess are presented in nothing but black, white, and bold splashes of red.
