About this deal

From the GW pictures, it looks like it should end up with the flatter surface, but mine just did not. This means I have also done all of my Orruk units with a combination of Agrellan Earth and various extra bits on top. But, any dental instrument or the sculpting tools from other brands like Army Painter work fine, too, and may be more affordable. Both versions can be drybrushed, but with booth earth version you will notice some of the texture coming off.

The cracks formed by Agrellan Earth provide an interesting textural contrast and lend an air of desolation and aridity to your miniatures. The Citadel Technical Range offers a wide variety of paints specially formulated to create unique textures, finishes, and effects on your miniatures. I find many other basing materials to be quite messy, but this feels just like painting the base and not like basing. The c olour is also quite bland and flat on all of the paints, so drybrushing is definitely recommended.

The bases I used were primed white for another project, so I just did a good black coat on the top of them before applying the Agrellan Earth. The durability on the two earth versions as not that good, but I found no flaking on the Badland/Ironcrust. Remember to use these paints straight from the pot, without watering them down, to get the best texture effect.

Here are the key reasons why I often choose Astrogranite Debris for basing and texturizing my miniatures. The US Moon landing in 1969 first gave us a real view of what Warhammer 40k xenomorphs may have seen as they prepared for the invasion of Terra. If you require a service that is fully tracked you must either select the Courier or the International Tracked option. For example, mix your own glazes or water down paints without losing the pigment strength or turn new into old by adding dirt and rust to models.

Whether by human eye or bio-electrical organs, the visible otherworldly landscape is often where battles wage for many tabletop wargames.

While the effect is not as obvious, and will not ‘pop’ in the same way on the table, it looks quite good. It can take between 10-30 minutes for a layer of technical paint to dry depending on the ambient humidity and temperature of your room.It is possible to find them in a smaller version, but if you intend to use it for basing your whole army, you should probably go with the big version. Imagine using it to depict a dry, barren landscape, an arid wasteland, or the cracked ground of a desert.

It features a thick grey base infused with actual bits of debris, adding an authentic texture to your miniatures. Note here, that the brand alternative are from the Vallejo Texture Gel range which also offers an array of textured mediums to add context and thematic interest to your miniatures and models. To apply Astrogranite or any other Citadel Technical Paint, I first prime my model’s base (or whatever surface I want to use this technical paint). RELATED: ESSENTIAL BASING MATERIALS FOR MINIATURES AND MODELS Agrellan Badland is another popular citadel technical paint. Whether you’re recreating an extraterrestrial landscape or a fantasy setting, Astrogranite is my top pick of the Citadel Technical Paints. Please note our Royal Mail service is not tracked, and if you require tracking for your parcel, you should choose UPS at checkout. The crackle texture paints took a bit of damage, but I can see no marks or flake from these grit ones. I use these images to comment on how the picture is different from what the paint will look in the real world straight out of the pot. They are designed to give your miniatures a unique look and texture, with a wide variety of colors and textures available.
