About this deal

The Bose are also one of the most comfortable headphones we’ve reviewed so far and have a much more neutral sound profile. The result is better audio and active noise reduction from smaller, lighter, more comfortable headphones. They're better-built, their bass response is more accurate, and their passive soundstage is perceived as more open and spacious. The companion app lets you manually adjust the ANC and other sound settings, and the slim design makes it comfortable to wear for hours. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II/QC35 II Wireless 2018 are better mixed usage wireless headphones than the Sony WH-H910N/h.

While tonal balance is relatively neutral with a slight mid-bass bump, the sound is somewhat soft when compared to competitors like the Sony WH-1000X M2 (previously the Sony MDR-1000X). They also have a head tracking feature, whereby audio follows your head movements for a more immersive experience and a longer continuous battery life.On the other hand, the Sony are a lot more customizable than the Bose as their companion app gives you access to a graphic EQ, noise cancelling options and optimization, an in-app player, room effects, and codec options. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II/QC35 II Wireless 2018 are better headphones than the Jaybird X4 Wireless for everyday use. And the plush ear cushions are manufactured from a synthetic protein leather, so it won’t even feel like you’re wearing headphones. The plastic build does help the QC35 II NC in terms of comfort and we were impressed by just how comfortable the headphone was to use for extended periods. If you’re an Apple device owner looking to go all-out on a pair of ANC headphones, check out the AirPods Max.

This means you still get the class-leading noise cancellation Bose is known for, good sound quality, and incredible comfort.Browse your current library, stream your favourite music services or explore new playlists with one simple connection. Considering that I have tried both the II and III, I can say they are poor in terms of detail retrieval and the bass is slow and fat, yes, lower midrange is completely affected by a very long decay that is quite annoying, and I say this being a basshead so I usually like fat bass (but it has to be a quality one, and this is not the case).

While both headphones have well-balanced default sound profiles, the JBL have a better app that gives you a parametric EQ and presets to adjust the way they sound. Both headsets support Bluetooth multipoint, and LDAC doesn’t matter if you’re on iOS as Apple doesn’t support anything better than AAC. The entire range is very well-balanced and neutral, ensuring a clear reproduction of vocals and lead instruments that doesn't sound cluttered or muddy. I had 3 years ago, the opportunity to compare the Bose QC-35N reviewed here, against the Sony 1000-XM2 . This may be a deal-breaker for some, but an advantage for others since you don't have to charge them.

We have changed Mic Mute to 'Yes' in Controls, and changed the wired connection to '1/16" TRRS' in Wired. Before you power on the headphone for the first time, you’re prompted to download the Bose app for your phone as the headphone will require using the app for many features like toggling noise cancellation, remapping the Google Assistant button, updating firmware and more. The Sony WH-1000XM5 is considerably better than the Bose QC 35 II in noise canceling and software features. Their leakage sounds fuller and more distracting than that of in-ears and earbuds, so at high volumes, people close to you can hear your music even in moderately noisy environments, like on a bus.

Battery life is still around 20 hours and now the NCH 700 charges via USB-C which is definitely a plus. The Bose have a more neutral sound profile, and their ANC feature is one of the best we’ve tested to date. However, if you don't need the added isolation, then the Bose SoundLink 2 have the same design without the ANC. However, the QC35 II have a more neutral sound, which some users may prefer, and they support passive playback. Bose has been at the top of the active noise canceling for years, and it was partly due to the QuietComfort series of headphones.

Proprietary TriPort acoustic headphone structure utilises external ports to vent the earcups and effectively enlarge the acoustic volume, without increasing the size of the earcup. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. While both over-ears are well-built, the Bose are more comfortable and have a significantly better noise isolation performance (especially when it comes to the low rumble of bus or plane engines). On the upside, the Sennheiser leak a lot less, which makes them a slightly better option to use in noise-sensitive environments like an office.
