From a 25km-long, storm-buffeted island off the west coast of Scotland comes Laphroaig (pronounced ‘la-froyg’), a Gaelic word meaning ‘beautiful hollow by the broad bay’. Being a coastal distillery, there is plenty of saltiness in the dram too, it really helps to enhance the peaty flavours, and balance the sweetness, making for a really pleasant and balanced dram.
