Glenkinchie,was recently named as ‘ The Garden Distillery’, due to its beautiful new garden development; fruits of a vision of planting to echo the land and greenery surrounding the distillery in the midst of East Lothian. Inspired by the local wild flowers and grasses the distillery gardens now include the installation of beehives, bat houses, bug boxes, and plantings to attract, feed, and shelter insect pollinators, birds and other creatures. After opening up with a drop of water, a complex sweetness, like toffee came through - moreso than the tamadhu 12, which I felt was of a less complex sweetness but felt it was less complex than the Glen Scotia's salted caramel feel. The glen scotia and tamadhu were good, but I felt were quite similar. This one being the most different would probably make it a good serious sipper, and I did prefer it to the Tamadhu, but it wasn't to my personal liking enough to be buying a full bottle.Tried this alongside a tamadhu and a glen scotia dram, and this was probably the most "different" to what I've tasted in the past.
